Mor Kulambu Recipe
- Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder in 1.5 cups buttermilk, mix well and keep aside.
- Wash and soak 1.5 tablespoons each of toor dal and raw rice in little water for 10 mins.
- Cut the vegetable of your choice and cook it in little water, with 1/2 tablespoon salt.
- If using ladies finger, you can skip this step. You should rather fry it in 1 tablespoon coconut oil before adding it to the kulambu.
- Grind coconut, green chillies, soaked toor dal, rice, and cumin to a paste.
- Heat a pot and add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Add mustard seeds, and curry leaves to temper.
- Now pour the buttermilk mixture, along with the cooked vegetable, and ground paste.
- Add about 1 cup water to rinse the mixer jar and add to Kulambu.
- Now add 1.5 tablespoons coriander powder and give it a good mix.
- Check for salt and add if needed. Cover and cook until a boil.
- Delicious Mor Kulambu is ready. Enjoy with hot rice and a fitting side dish.
